What is Veiling?, a book written by Sahar Amer ’86, M.A. ’86, has recently been published by the University of North Carolina Press. Neither defending nor criticizing veiling, Amer addresses the significance of the practice and clarifies the voices of Muslim women who struggle to be heard. Amer is currently a professor of Arabic and Islamic studies at the University of Sydney.
