Janice Taylor Gordon ’51, Ph.D ’61, Awarded Honorary Doctorate by Cabrini College

Janice Taylor Gordon, Ph.D ’61, received a Doctor of Science Honoris Causa from Cabrini College at its commencement ceremony on May 20.  Gordon was presented with the honor for her cultural as well as her medical contributions.

Gordon, who earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemistry as well as her Ph.D. from Bryn Mawr , worked as a professor of medicine in the division of endocrinology at Hahnemann University Hospital before she retired in 2006. She has also served on the Franklin Institute’s Committee on Science and the Arts, the boards of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia and Philomathean Society of the University of Pennsylvania, the central committee for Philadelphia Orchestra, and as president of the Franklin Inn Club, a Philadelphia literary society.
