Barbara Bauman Morrison ’62 was awarded the Helen Taft Manning Award in November for her exceptional service to the College. At a ceremony hosted by the Bryn Mawr College Club of Chicago, Morrison was honored for the time, talent, and financial support she has provided to the College for so many years. Among her many positions throughout the years include serving as a Chicago-area admissions representative, the Midwest district admissions councilor for 20 years, class co-president, a member of the Alumnae Association Executive Board, and spent five decades of leadership at the Bryn Mawr Club of Chicago.

In 1980, the College and the Alumnae Association joined together to establish the Helen Taft Manning Award to recognize outstanding service to Bryn Mawr. The award was named to honor Dean Manning, class of 1915, and her own exemplary contributions to Bryn Mawr as professor, dean, and acting president. Recipients are selected by a committee of alumnae nominated by the presidents of the College and the Association.
