Susan Horwitz ’58 Elected to the American Philosophical Society

330-HorwitzSusan Horwitz ’58 was elected to the American Philosophical Society in the biological sciences class.  She is currently a professor and co-chair of the department of molecular pharmacology and chair in cancer research at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Benjamin Franklin founded the American Philosophical Society in 1743 for the purpose of “promoting useful knowledge.” In the 21st century, the society honors and engages distinguished scientists, humanists, social scientists, and leaders in civic and cultural affairs; supports research and discovery; and serves scholars through a research library of internationally recognized collections and manuscripts.
