Stephanie Trott ’12 took first place in the essay portion of the Rachel Carson Sense of Wonder 2012 Contest for an article co-written with her father. The essay, titled “Sailing as a Family,” depicts experiences shared by Trott and her father during family sailing trips.
The Rachel Carson Sense of Wonder 2012 Contest focused on water and encouraged applicants of two or more people to share their love for water through poetry, essays, photos, or dance. The contest is sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Generations United, the Dance Exchange, Rachel Carson Council, Inc., and the National Center for Creative Aging.
