Mara Feeney ’73 publishes novel

After a 30-year career in environmental consulting, Mara Feeney ’73 has published her first novel, Rankin Inlet. The novel is set in a small Inuit community on the west coast of the Hudson Bay and covers a century of social, economic and political change that have transformed the area and its people.
“I never would have achieved this without the help of the Bryn Mawr Alumnae Association,” Feeney says. When she was a freshman anthropology major, the Alumnae Association granted her a loan that allowed her to travel to Rankin Inlet for the first time, in the summer of 1970. She was hooked.
